Shaktism in Narada Purana
ShaktismShakti form has a significant part in the Narada Purana. Radha is the most prominent deity associated with Krishna among mother goddesses. The other deities are described as facets of Radha, Lakshmi, Durga, Saraswati, Savitri and Devi.
In consonance with Narada Radha is understood to have been born from Krishna`s body. She is living in Goloka. She is occupying a Tejomapdala (halo of light). Goddess Lakshmi took birth from the left of Radha`s body, while the Gopis from the pores of her skin, and Vishnumaya from the right side of her body. Savitri, Saraswati and Gopas arose from Krishna`s navel, mouth and the pores of his skin respectively. Lakshmi, Durga, Savitri and Sarasvati, are identified as Radha’s manifestations .
As per Narada Parana, Lakshmi is described as Kamalavasini who took the form of Sri to destruct demons. She resides in Aravinda to fulfil everyone’s desires. She is construed as goddess of wealth. Three incarnations have been outlined her that of Bala Tripura, Annapurnesa, Bagamukhibrahati.
The three-eyed goddess Durga was born from Krishna`s body. She was married to Lord Shiva. Goddess Durga, who created Devloka, a celestial world is believed to do reparation there and is acclaimed with three incarnations. Durga is regarded as the main source of all the creation and of all the goddesses.
Narada mentions Savitri as the four-faced Brahma who took birth from the navel of Hari. She is the originator of all the gods, who is seated upon a parrot. She is Brahma’s wife, and after meditating upon her, he created the movable and immovable creatures.
According to the Narada Purana, Saraswati, took birth from Krishna`s mouth, and was sent to Vaikuntha to reside with Lakshmi and Narayana. Her incarnations include Mahasaraswati, Kalika, Tara and Devi. In Narada Purana, Devi is considered as the greatest Shakti of Shiva. She is the protector and the mistress of the world.
Sage Narada considers Radha as supreme female deity and assays the other deities to be partial incarnations of her. It was Narada, apparently, for the first time, attributed avataras to the avataras.
